You can easily be put off changing up your hairstyle when you’re unsure of how to style it. Luckily, it really isn’t as daunting as it seems! With the right products and technique, achieving that new look becomes a whole lot simpler.

The classic pompadour is one of the hairstyles which almost everyone can pull off but often struggle to style. Our video below will help you to style the perfect pompadour in two simple steps.

The video will show you the easiest way to get your styling technique up to scratch. If you’re interested in discovering which products to use and the reason behind them, keep reading our blog for extra details.

Step 1: Blow Dry

The key to achieving the perfect pompadour is to start with damp hair. This allows you to build extra volume whilst blow drying your hair upwards from the root. In turn, this will help to add natural texture and bounce, preventing your hair from dropping during the day. If you have quite curly or wavy hair, use a quiff roller whilst blow drying to maintain control and reduce frizz.

Step 2: Styling Cream

Once you’ve dried your hair, take a small amount of styling cream and warm it in between your hands. This makes it easier to work through your hair. As the ends are naturally sparser than the rest, make sure to focus on them whilst applying your styling cream. Height and shape will then be more easily maintained, plus the lightweight product won’t weigh down your style.
