Nestled in the heart of Manchester City Centre, Manchester's Northern Quarter is an area full of alternative and bohemian culture, defined as part of the cities regeneration. You can expect to find an eclectic selection of bars, coffee shops and cafes, which has quickly solidified it as a go-to destination for many people.

There Is More Than Just Coffee and Cocktails

If coffee and cocktails aren't your thing, you'll be sure to find solace in the mass amounts of boutique clothes shops or quirky art museums. There genuinely is something for everyone. You may also notice when walking around, that some areas have been used as filming locations. In 2011, the superhero film 'Captain America: The First Avenger' used Dale Street as its location for 1940's New York, that alone should make you want to visit.

Here at Mankind HQ we're a lover of all things in Manchester's Northern Quarter. We bring to you 3 of our great finds, that you should definitely check out.

1.

The Foundation Coffee House

Foundation Coffee House will provide you with the perfect destination for catching up with friends, casual meetings or larger corporate events. The design led space has a lovely feel to it, which sets it apart from many locations in the area. Serving a wide selection of food and drink from coffee and protein shakes, to crumpets and cakes, you'll be sure to find something here to suit even the fussiest of eaters.
2.

BlackMilk Cereal Dive

Although one of the newer locations in Manchester's Northern Quarter, BlackMilk Cereal Kult has quickly become one of our firm favourites. Based inside Afflecks, one of the cities most well-known indoor markets, they serve a range of cereals from around the World. This might sound like a basic concept, but when you add the various topics and milks, this can quickly give you the perfect taste of nostalgia, with a modern twist.
3.

Federal Cafe and Bar

If you're looking for a hearty breakfast, brunch or lunch, Federal Cafe is the place to be. This New Zealand & Australian cafe serves everything from your sweet treats, to savoury lunches. What we love the most about Federal though, is how Instagram-worthy all of the food is. You can be sure to see everyone snapping their food before tucking in. You can also treat yourself to a cheeky beer or mimosa, if you're feeling fancy.
