Let Aedes de Venustas Copal Azur Eau de Parfum transport your senses to the lush green jungles and sacred Mexican walled city of Tulum, where Mayan temple ruins and citadels loom over the steep, mineral cliffs and whiffs of copal-laced air meander through the atmosphere powered by salty sprays of the Caribbean Sea. Strikingly similar to Frankincense, Copal extracted from a variety of trees native to Central and South America and was burned by the Mayans and Aztecs in ancient spiritual ceremonies to feed the gods.
Since copal resin cannot be used as a perfume ingredient, three different extractions of frankincense are used to conjure it from top to base notes, which perfumer Karl Bradl expertly mingled with aromatic hearts of Cardamom, Patchouli and Myrrh. Rounded off with a lick of almond-scented Tonka Bean smoothed into creamy notes and combined with warming Amber, Copal Azur is a hypnotic and enticing fragrance that leaves a lingering trail of olfactory bliss. Housed in a luxurious azure and gold glass flacon.
