Robin, from Man For Himself, is a male grooming, lifestyle and style blogger and vlogger. Robin established Man For Himself back in 2012, and followed shortly with his YouTube channel in 2013. We find Robin's blog to be a one-stop-shop for all male related grooming advice, and we would definitely recommend you check it out.

One thing we love about Robin's content is his honesty and flair. He delivers the message in a simple way, that's easy to understand and suits the male demographic. He also gives us serious hair envy. If you're looking to replicate his incredible hair, there's a video he's created telling you just how to do that. You can watch that by clicking here.

Robin is a fountain of knowledge. We asked a couple of questions regarding his skincare experiences. It's always good to know that all men are created differently, yet still have steps to keep their skin looking and feeling great.

Q Let’s start by telling us a bit more about you…
A
My name’s Robin and I’m a trained journalist and producer turned blogger and vlogger! I started my career working in online production for TV, but now run my men’s style, lifestyle and grooming YouTube channel and blog, Man For Himself.
Q When did you first start looking after your skin? And what caused you to consider it more?
A
I took a real interest in my skin when I was at university. Suffering from an oily and super-shiny face, I experimented with different products and treatments. Since then, I take great pleasure in trying new products in order to find the very best routine for me.
Q What steps do you follow in your everyday skincare routine?
A
I exfoliate in the shower in the morning, I then use a toner and finish with a light moisturiser.
Q How did you discover your skin type and what products worked best for you?
A
I’ve always had a really oily t-zone, so I started to actively search for products designed for oily skin. I quickly found out that charcoal washes and light, moisturising serums were perfect for me. I also realised that thick, creamy moisturisers would block my pores and make my skin shine like nothing else!
Q What challenges did you face when starting to look after your skin?
A
I found skincare a really intimidating topic! There were so many different product types, brands and prices. It was only through trial and error that I realised what I needed; what I didn’t; and that the most expensive product isn’t always the best one!
Q What three products are staples in your skincare routine?
A
Clinique’s Charcoal Face Wash - I use this with their Sonic Purifying Cleansing Brush and it keeps my skin clean and clear. Perfect for oily skin, it keeps it fresh without drying it out. Lab Series Matte Renewal Lotion - I’m a relative newbie to Lab Series but it’s fast become one of my favourite skin care brands. This moisturiser keeps my skin hydrated but reduces the greasy shine that i usually have. DHC Cleansing Oil - it’s really a makeup remover, but this removes all the dirt and grime from my face. I use it every night before bed.
Q If you had one piece of advice to give to someone starting on their skincare journey, what would it be?
A
Listen to your own skin! We are all unique and react differently to products. Don’t be afraid to experiment to find the perfect products and routine for you.

Robin’s blog is one of our favourites, don’t forget to head over to ManForHimself.com to check it out.

You can also follow him on Twitter (@ManForHimself) and Instagram (@manforhimself). Which you definitely should!
