American Crew: What's Their Story?
American Crew was founded in 1994 by David Raccuglia. David noticed an increase in demand for male grooming products, and the idea sparked to create a salon quality brand specifically tailored toward men. David has been a hairdresser since 1977 and opened his own hair salon before noticing a shift in male hairstyles to a classic, shorter look. He found that many of the styles he created were dictated by the products available, which limited individuality.
Pomades and Brylcream were the most readily available products, which meant men naturally had to have similar styles. This is where David's creation of American Crew began.
What Makes Them Different?
They have a passionate commitment to male grooming and aim to bring every guy into a salon. David Raccuglia aimed originally to make his salons male friendly to encourage men to come in. With this in mind, it's clear to see how American Crew has an aesthetic and ethos that is male friendly. As their owner and founder is a professionally trained hairdresser, you can be confident in knowing that each product is to the highest quality.
