Menage: What's Their Story?
The Menage team gained inspiration from a BBC documentary that aired in 2007. It claimed that many antioxidants don't function well, or even at all, once they've been included in cosmetics products. The team worked closely with antioxidant researchers to design and measure the effectiveness of antioxidants in skincare, ensuring that they could create the best match. After much testing, the team discovered that the strongest performing antioxidant was a moisturising one, Copper PCA. Like many scientific discoveries, Copper PCA was discovered accidentally so research is still being conducted on additional benefits. Menage is said to be the only men's skincare brand in the world with patented antioxidant technology.
What Happened Next?
In 2010, Charlie Pitcher approached Menage to create a hand cream. Charlie is a world record breaking rower, and whilst planning to row single handedly across the Atlantic, he needed a hand cream that would protect his hands from friction, sun and salt water. Of course, Menage accepted the challenge. Following on from the great feedback of Charlie, they realised many men would need similarly effective skincare. After all, we're all equally important, right? Aimed at men who are exposed to harsh conditions, whether that be through work or just typical English weather, Menage was born.
