Taking the leap to buying a new fragrance is always a difficult one. Everyone perceives a scent in a different way, which can make it a challenge to make the jump. It takes a while for a fragrance to adjust to your skin, and for you to actually get used to it.

Ever since we first smelt it, Versace Dylan Blue has been one of our favourites at Mankind HQ. The easiest, and most effective way of ensuring the fragrance is for you, is to look out for notes in the fragrance that you like. We've gone one step further and broken it down so that you know how the scent will react and what to expect.

The Story Behind Versace

Versace was founded in 1978 by Gianni Versace, then taken over by his sister Donatella Versace in 1997. Although Versace began as an italian fashion brand, it quickly expanded with the launch of their first fragrance in 1981. Faced by the iconic logo featured Medusa, the brand is recognisable by many. Gianni chose Medusa as the logo because she made people fall in love with her and he hoped the brand would have a similar effect on their customers.

What Does Dylan Blue Smell Like?

Versace Dylan Blue is a charismatic fragrance that is sure to tick all the right boxes. It exudes strength, passion and masculinity, which makes it the perfect scent for any gent. The top notes of bergamot and grapefruit are the first thing you'll notice when you apply the scent, giving the fragrance an instant citrus aroma. Once the fragrance settles, you'll notice it taking a more musky turn, with the introduction of heart notes black pepper and incense. As the scent begins to evaporate, the base notes of saffron and tonka bean come into play giving the scent a more sophisticated edge.

Top Notes: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Aquatic Accords

Heart Notes: Incence, Black Pepper, Papyrus Wood

Base Notes: Saffron, Tonka Bean, Patcholi

Final Thoughts...

All in all, we think Versace Dylan Blue is a fragrance suitable for any man. It's subtle, yet packs a punch. There's a certain freshness about the fragrance that will make it the perfect transitional scent from winter to spring. If you're looking to try something new that will sure to become a firm favourite, this is the one for you.
