Not everyone is a skincare expert. For some of us, it's difficult to know what products we should actually use, never mind the order in which we should use them. Putting everything aside, we're providing you with the skincare basics.

As a basic routine, you should consider using a cleanser, toner and moisturiser. These will set up the foundations of your skincare routine, and from there you can add products that target your specific needs. Here's our video that shows you what products you should use and why.

The video should give you the information you need in the most simple way. If you're looking for a bit more of an in-depth breakdown, keep reading our blog to find out what you should use and why.

Step 1: Start With A Cleanser

Cleansing your skin helps to remove excess dirt and oil. It's possibly one of the most important steps, since after a long day your skin will have been exposed to external aggressors. Pollution in the air, UVA rays and general day-to-day life can put strain on your skin. Cleansing both morning and night will help remove all this build up, and help prevent breakouts and irritation.

Step 2: Next, Use A Toner

Toning is probably the one step people always tend to skip. Mainly because a lot of people don't actually understand the benefits of it. Toners help to remove any excess residue left over by your cleanser. They also help to close the pores, after your cleanser has opened them and cleaned them out. Why's this important? If your pores are left open, you're giving oil and dirt a place to settle. Close your pores and help prevent future breakouts by using a toner. Many of them also have soothing properties to help calm the skin.

Step 3: Finish With A Moisturiser

Moisturising is something we imagine you're all familiar with. You get a lot of instant results from using a moisturiser so people tend to already have this in their routine. Moisturising both morning and night helps to hydrate the top layers of the skin, ensuring your face is nourished at all times. A lot of moisturisers also come with additional benefits, including anti-ageing and calming.
