Our favourite time of the year has arrived - Pancake Day! Tuesday, February 28th is Shrove Tuesday here in the UK, which means pretty much everyone across the UK will be enjoying pancakes. With that in mind, we wanted to share with you our foolproof pancake recipe.
We think that anyone will be able to create this delicious masterpiece, it's simple and easy to follow. Pancakes become special when you start adding the toppings, so once you've got the base sorted, it's time to get creative.
The 3, 2, 1 Method - Pancake Recipe
Quite possibly the simplest pancake recipe you'll ever encounter, just remember 3, 2, 1. This will create the perfect pancake, which has a very similar taste and texture to a crêpe. It's light, airy and is the perfect vessel for any sweet or savoury topping.
The ingredients you'll need are:
- 3ooml milk
- 2 eggs
- 100g plain flour
- Pinch of salt
How do you make them?
Put all of your ingredients into a bowl and whisk until there are no lumps of flour. If you're feeling a bit fancy, add a splash of vanilla extract at this stage. Once your batter is complete, heat a frying pan over medium heat and pour in a quarter of your mixture. The recipe above should be enough for 4 medium sized pancakes, which is perfect. You need to cook the pancakes for a couple of minutes on each side, or until they're golden and there's no visible raw batter. Flip out onto a plate, and you're ready to top it with your filling of choice.
How simple is that? The difficult part of this recipe is deciding what toppings you're going to have. Whether you're opting for chocolate spread, lemon and sugar or strawberries and cream, we're sure you'll enjoy this recipe.
